Ashley Chaney was born and raised in Valdosta Georgia. He spent most of his summers bass fishing at local ponds and catfishing on rivers in north Florida. Soon after moving to Nashville he started fishing from the banks of Old Hickory Lake.
Looking for a way to get off the bank he found kayak fishing, from there it turned from a hobby into part of his lifestyle.
When starting on his kayaking journey most of his time was spent at Station Camp Creek fishing and learning to be more comfortable in his kayak. Then it was on to fishing the lakes and rivers near by.
His fist tournament was with KBFTN in 2013, his passion for the sport has given him many opportunities. His latest accomplishment for the sport is stepping into the position of tournament director for KBFTN. When not fishing he is a dedicated father and husband who likes to spend his time outdoors with his wife Rachael and teaching their daughters how to fish. His kayak of choice is the Wilderness Systems Ride 115.
