Greg Massa - Pro Staff Member - Fishing
Greg Massa grew up fishing Wheeler Lake on the TN River chain. Early on, catfish and bream were caught on a regular basis during family trips to the river with the occasional largemouth being a bonus. In 2012 after borrowing a kayak from a friend he knew he had to get one of his own. After just a few trips he was hooked on fishing from a kayak, except this time the target species was largemouth bass in backwater creeks and sloughs.
After figuring out that a topwater frog over grass equals big fish, Greg entered his first online tournament in August 2014 hosted by Kayak Angler For A Cause and won his first kayak bass tournament. Through the next several years he continued to win with several top 3 finishes in tournaments both national and local including a top spot as 2016 North Alabama Kayak Anglers AOTY. However, when tournaments are over you will find him miles back in the woods on backwater swamps chasing the next big bite.
Greg currently serves on the board of directors with NAKA and organizes their online tournament series #NAKABIGBASS. He has also had pictures and articles shared by Kayak Fishing Blog, Kayak Angler Magazine, and even the local news.
Even though Greg has a strong passion to pursue the next bite he always puts family first and will definitely be targeting bream again as his kids are getting old enough to tag along.
