Andrea White is a Board Member for the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Association, a Level 2 ACA River Kayaking instructor and a passionate paddler of Class I rivers. She also brings professional experience in marketing and project management.
In 2016, White co-founded TSRA’s Rescue for Recreational Boaters, a class which brings together information about water safety, trip planning and on-the-water rescue skills at a level appropriate for paddlers of lakes and class I rivers. Also working with TSRA, Andrea has launched off season informational sessions to keep recreational boaters engaged in the boating community and learning about paddling.
Building on these successes, Andrea forged a pivotal partnership between TSRA and MTSU’s School of Mass Communication to hold a competition among the Public Relations majors to build PR plans for TSRA for 2017. Also, Andrea negotiated a budding partnership between TSRA and Metro-Nashville Parks.
“I paddled with my family as a child but I did not really catch the kayaking “bug” until 2012. I love helping new paddlers figure out the right boat and gear for the kind of paddling they want to do. I'm also passionate about helping novices safely explore new waterways.
I've found the paddling community to be an exceptional group of people. I love finding points of connection between different wings of the community so that new members of the family can find their niche. It's all about enjoying our waterways and supporting an active lifestyle that is grounded in safety, appreciating our rivers, and positive communal relationships.
See You On The River!
